SampleProject: Building a Client Server Network
How the volunteer can help yourorganization:
Avolunteercan build a client server network of up to ten machines. This meansthatthey will be configuring the software for the network, like Windows2003or Linux. This takes a lot of time, so the machines should alreadybe network-ready— that is, they should already have the cabling,Ethernet cards and hub.
CAUTION: Thesetypesof networks require ongoing maintenance by a trained networkadministrator.It’s not something that you can rely on a volunteer for,nor can you easilytack it onto a current staff member’s job duty.Realistically, you’ll mostlikely need to hire a part-time networkadministrator or, at minimum, aconsultant. Please consider theseadditional costs before deciding on thisoption.

· Have the money set aside tohire a consultant or staff to maintain the network

What the volunteer can do:
