Besides, since this invention is equipped with camera function, it can help the system to discover the terminal within the coverage area or the terminal that doesn’t belong to this operator, which makes it easier to assist the corresponding system to carry out planning and optimizing, etc.  

The details of this invention are as follows:

1.A way of beamforming in which light and wireless signal assist each other, and it contains:

Hardware part and software part. The former part is composed of baseband and radio frequency interface, gain control, beamforming antenna array and camera device; besides traditional gain control and beamforming function, the software part can process video and pictures taken by camera device to get information for wireless side to beamform, and the user signal information obtained from wireless side is conducive to optimizing and processing video and pictures taken by camera device. All above in this paragraph is as shown in figure 1.

2.Basic steps contain:

(a)Calibration: one is calibration of wireless coverage and shooting range, and the other is calibration of real 3D location in the image and direction of beams. Besides calibration in initialization, calibration should also be executed regularly or be triggered by some events in an automatic way.

(b)The system continuously monitors the camera device to acquire the accuracy of user location tracking, and that reflects the accuracy of beamforming which is based on the assistance of light. When the accuracy is reduced to some extent, the operating mode will be switched to a mode that beamforming parameters’ estimation only depends on wireless signal.

When quality of images gets worse, converting frequency band can be considered. For example, infrared images are alternative at night.

(c)Analyzing images, tracking of potential users and mobile station, and calculating the antenna parameters of beamforming correspondingly.

(i)In switching in stage, the parameters calculated before is used for signal spatial filtering based on azimuth angle and elevation angle to improve performance.

(ii)In paging stage, the signal spatial filtering calculated in last stage is used to align beams to potential users’ location instead of broadcasting to the whole cell or sector. In this way, when paging is failed, beam width is increased so that broadcast paging is carried out instead of beamforming. 

(iii)In service transmission stage, uplink and downlink usually have specified control channels, and service channel can only be uplink or downlink. When the mobile station’s location which the beamforming parameters correspond to and certain location presented in the image by camera device match, overhead signal will be decreased for estimating wireless channel space parameters, and velocity of mobile station can be judged more easily, optimizing wireless beam parameters.
