Human Beings Are Entering Mature Stage

When I was a child, I tried to discern the role of good people from bad in the movie. But there were always bad guys hiding among good ones, not exposing themselves until the movie comes to the end. I was eager to know if someone is a good guy or bad guy and could not help asking the grown-ups. As gradually gaining age, I realized that the world is not so black and white.

Recently I am reading essays of saints'-- Bahá'u'lláh and Zoroaster. They have one thing in common: compare the development of human society to the process of human beings growing up, to demonstrate the periodically changing of scoiety, then conclude the process as three times, also called "three stages" in Manicheism.

The first stage is chaos. People feel obscure on conceptions, values and religious beliefs. Just like the newborn infants, everything is muddled. The feature of this stage has been elaborated in The Holy Bible and Lao Tse's Dao De Jing, and unnecessary to repeat here.

The second stage is dualism--good, or bad, heven or hell, friend or enemy, terrorism nation or antiterrorism nation.As in Parseeism, there are the God of wise, Mazda Ahura and the God of evil, Ahriman. This psychological characteristic is immature, like state of mind in childhood.

The third stage is the mature stage. combination, cooperation and solidarity becomes the main symbols. "unity of the world ", "human beings are one family", "one world, one dream", concepts alike dominates the mature stage of human beings. Mindsets, values and superstitions of the second stage can slow down and obstruct the process toward mature stage.

Features of mature stage are elaborated in Bahá'u'lláh's works, applied which to current trend, we can see gobalization is the mainstream. It drives human beings positively to the mature stage, while the trade protectionism and mutual sanctions negatively hinder the world from stepping into this stage.

"Human-beings are one family", "care for each other" help to accelerate the process, on the contrary, extreme nationalism hinders. No matter how many difficulties we may met in the process of entering mature stage, the great tide can not be reversed, like children will finally grow up.
