某个游戏论坛时常会为《守护遗迹》创作数码同人画作。对于那些从来没听说过《守护遗迹》的人，下面是一段Wikipedia上的简短介绍：
“《守护遗迹》(Defense of the Ancients)，简称DotA，是一个基于《魔兽争霸3：混乱之治》与《魔兽争霸3：冰封王座》的即时对战自定义场景，沿用了《星际争霸》时代的Aeon of Strife地图。游戏中，对战双方的目的是摧毁另一方守护在地图另一端的远古遗迹。玩家可以使用一个“英雄”角色，在其他结盟的英雄以及靠人工智能操纵的“怪物”的帮助下完成任务。同RPG游戏一样，玩家需要让他的英雄不断升级，并在任务中用金钱换取必要的装备。”
